What is your biggest challenge heading into the 2025 timetable season? Thinking back, for me, coming up to course selection I would find myself chasing Faculty coordinators for last minute changes to our offerings.

Hi Catherine,
Sometimes I find that things change out in the world of the school and I am the last to know 😛
I work from a series of instructions that I have been given, create and present and low and behold, something has changed but I wasn’t told 😛
Always happy to make the changes, but it can be frustrating 🙂

Hi Helen. It sounds like you need to find some ways to be kept in the loop about changes in your school which impact on yourself. Is there a particular person or committee in the school who/which oversees most of the changes that could impact on your timetable information or is it bits and pieces that come from lots of people? I found this more of a challenge at my previous school than my current. I found building a strong relationship with the person responsible for most of this type of information was key. Checking in with them regularly to see what was changing or what may be on the horizon, this also opened the lines of communication back to myself and the person became quite good at feeding back anything I needed to know.
There may be some better ways of having information communicated as well Eg. Ensuring you are provided with minutes of meetings where decisions are made which impact timetabling information, potentially a regular meeting with an Assistant Principal or the College Principal could assist you as well. Hopefully I have provided you with some avenues you may be able to explore.-

Hi Gary,
Thank you for your good advice. I will take it on board. Our school has been through many changes in the last 18 months, so establishing these communication lines is needed again. I will sit down with our Principal and see if we can work out a great way of communicating these changes 🙂Kind regards,
Helen

The attached planner may assist with identifying who is responsible for providing information, as well as dates when tasks should ideally be finalised.
